Greetings in the name of our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.
Unlike previous venues, The Evergreen State College, charges for parking. Washington state law requires that universities and colleges charge for parking. Therefore, the General Convention will be charged for parking by its attendees at a rate of $6 per day (or any period longer than 2 hours) from Saturday, July 11th through Thursday, July 16. The parking charge covers any and all of the college’s parking lots.
The Evergreen State College has a rigorous process for catching those who do not pay for their parking. The college parking staff visits every parking lot every hour and uses technology to check vehicle license plates for offenders. If a vehicle’s license plate Is not in their system, the offender is ticketed at a cost of $20.
If you will be parking at the convention site anytime July 11 through 16 and do not want to pay for your parking individually (there are kiosks at each lot that allow you to self-pay using a credit card), please send us your vehicle’s license plate information (state/province, license number) and we will forward that information to the college. The parking expenses for that vehicle for July 11 -16 will be added to the General Convention’s bill.
Please do not try to “beat” or “game” the system. Our college liaison is not interested in spending time “fixing parking tickets.” Just give us your vehicle’s license information (before July 11th if possible) and we will make sure that is submitted to the college to avoid a parking ticket. If you are driving a rental car, please send us the license plate information for the rental vehicle as soon as you know it.
